Surprising detail you missed from Princess Kate’s touching family video with Prince William and their children

The Prince and Princess of Wales revealed a never-before-seen glimpse into family life as Catherine announced that her chemotherapy was finished.

Catherine is shown enjoying the summer break from school with Prince William, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and 6-year-old Prince Louis in a heartwarming video message that chronicles her battle with cancer.

The family is shown in the montage, which was shot in Norfolk last month by director Will Warr, playing cards competitively and merrily around a table with Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

Additionally, the Waleses made a frugal scorekeeping decision during their match. Each player’s capsule of coffee can be seen in the center of the dining table!

A pack of RAF “Battle of Britain” cards is seen being played with in footage of William, Catherine, and their kids during a picnic, suggesting that the family loves playing card games.

Given that William and Catherine are well-known for being fierce competitors when they go head-to-head during their royal engagements, it is likely that their family games spark some friendly rivalry between them all.

When Mike Tindall brought up the topic last September on his podcast, “The Good, The Bad & The Rugby”, the Princess quips, “I’m really not that competitive, I don’t know where this has come from.”

Then, laughing, she said, “it becomes a mental challenge between the two of us,” joking that she and William had never been able to finish a game of tennis.

Subsequently, Princess Anne reacted to Mike’s question about whether the couple’s three kids were acting competitively by saying, “Just a little bit, I would suggest.”

“It’s interesting that they all obviously [have] very different temperaments,” Catherine retorted.

“And as they’re growing and trying out different sports – they’re obviously still really young – it’s going be interesting to see how that grows and develops.”

The Waleses’ laughter as they splash through the waves on the beach and William and Catherine’s infrequent PDA moments as they lie together on a picnic blanket, with the Prince playful kissing his wife on the cheek and neck, are two more adorable moments from the family film.

Looking ahead to returning to public duties, Catherine stated that she “must continue to take each day as it comes” and that the “path to healing and full recovery is long” after completing chemotherapy.
